If your motherboard has SATA connections that face 'UP', then you will be OK. LCD readout could be a tad better but overall, its acceptable.Ĭons: Main CON: Space for the motherboard. All of my parts seem to fit nicely and even though it is a little 'cramped' inside, you will fare well if you bring some wire ties when you start building your HTPC. Not necessarily a CON, but understand if your power supply fails, you will need to buy another one through Antec. If you are strictly into the HTPC aspect of it, it is a nifty lil case (and comes with its' own proprietary power supply). If you are into medium / heavy overclocking / high end gaming, look somewhere else. With that being said, I will pass on some of my experience with this case, for those who are interested in buying it. It is low profile and fits my HTPC needs, to a 'T'. Here is why: This case, in my opinion, is a solid case. Pros: *Disclaimer* - I gave this case 5 eggs but for the average person, they would probably rate it around 3-4 eggs. This Zalman cnps 8700 led cooler did not fit in two other microatx cases I had in a gigabyte ga-g31m-es2l microatx board.Įvga 8400 gs + nvidia 9400 chipset = nvidia 9450 That is what it was designed for! There is plenty of space for a mobo, an oversized cpu cooler with a HUGE footprint. You're better off leaving it alone beneath your TV. It's not a tinkerer case for constant upgrading. This IS a microatx case - fit will be tight.
I don't understand the issues the initial reviews indicated here. Looks very professionally built too, and the psu is 80 plus, ideal for a device that will be running 24x7x365. This case will fit perfectly in a A/V environment. Overall Review: I usually don't write such long review, but I was so happy with this case that I had to for this. Eventually I had to get a hold of someone else there and they are sending me a replacement lcd. Antec support said they will send me a new lcd, but I had to encounter some rude person called Don who asked me to send him pics of the fallen lcd, and then vanished, the id*ot. My case came with the lcd display unstuck to it's plastic mount, as you see in the video. Running a Core2Quad 9400 cpu, core temps are about 45-48c. The two case fans by the side get the job of sucking this hot air and the air from the psu/hdd out of the case. This chipset does run very hot, but the zalman 8700 led cooler blows air downward all over the mobo, cooling the heatsink on the mobo too.

I use a mobo with the nvidia 9400 chipset, with a 8400 gs running hybril sli (GF9450) for stutter free BD playback.
two fans exhaust all that and the hot air from the cpu cooler. One fan sucks in cool air for a hot 1.5 tb seagate hdd, another one to cool the psu. There are 4 - 3 speed fans powered off the psu, all set to low. I tucked away all the wires into the bays- behind the lcd and beneath the Blu-Ray drive, where there is'nt much heat build-up. You need to spend a few hours carefully planning the installation. It is a tight fit only during installation, and will fit all microAtx form factor boards. Probably the best you'll find for this price range. Fan control would have been nice on the back or side. Each fan has a switch for low, medium or high speed (RPM in the manual) but no way to change it without opening the case back up. There is a lot of wiring as Antec uses Molex connectors for each fan - three extra Molex connectors I could have done without. The optical drive bay hangs over the board a bit, which isn't a problem for my particular usage but could be an issue if I had IDE drives present. Some extra room to slide in the board would have been nice. Overall Review: While the case looks great externally, the interior was lacking polish from a design standpoint.

LCD turns on full brightness at boot, no way to turn it off other than unhooking it. Hard drive bay is secured with a thumb screw AND a regular screw. Includes only two wire ties for cable management and could use more, or at least better placed. Fitting in with the I/O fascia was a bit nerve-racking. Optical drive cage slides in and out.Ĭons: Tight fit for Micro ATX board.
Doesn't have tons of unnecessary extra ports or lights on the front.
